What is CHy Pre-Session discussion platform?
This platform has been created to allow the “WMO Hydrological Community” (Permanent Representatives, Hydrological Advisors, CHy Members, OPACHE Members) to provide their inputs to some of the documents to be presented at the forthcoming Session of the Commission for Hydrology (CHy-15) to be held in Rome, Italy, from 7 to 13 December 2016. It is mainly intended as a virtual brainstorming session on emerging topics of relevance to hydrologists, so that the discussion is intended to be open and informal.
Topics for discussion
NOTE: The possibility to comment will be closed 12 hours before the document to which the topic refers will be discussed.
- Seamless Global Data-processing and Forecasting Systems (GDPFS)
- WMO Hydrological Observing System (WHOS)
- Standardized Data Sharing in Hydrology
- Further implementation of CHy’s Quality Management Framework – Hydrology (QMF-H)
- CHy Overall Strategy for Regulatory Material
How does this platform work?
A page is created for each topic to be discussed and users interested in CHy-15 Session will be able to comment on them through this platform.
Topics for discussion – These pages contain key questions on new topics which have been prepared by a CHy expert to introduce the subject and solicit comments from a wide spectrum of stakeholders. The comments received will guide the preparation of the official CHy-15 document on the subject.
Background documents – These are documents which provide the necessary context for the Topics for discussion and are not designed to be commented on.
The Topics for Discussion and the Background documents will be posted on this platform.
The Official documents which will be presented at the CHy-15 Session for adoption by the Members will be posted on the official session website.
